Topic: Environmental Causes of PD and Atypical PD
Also: Allison Low (Kaiser Physical Therapist) and Janet Cook will lead exercises for PD

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Our Parkinson's Support Group of Sonoma County (PSGSC) is a non-profit organization with a 15 member Board of Directors. Our Annual PSGSC Board Meeting was held in January to reelect Officers and Board Members for 2017. Officers elected were Kathy Osbun, President/Chair; Marc Alexander, Vice Chair/Program Coordinator; Sandy Grant, Treasurer; Barbara France, Secretary; Art Rosenblum; Ann Walker; Suzanne deKozan; David Getzoff; Gloria Stubbs; John Hamilton; Marie Kay Hansen; Nancy Wilson; and Sandy Barrett. At the moment we have 2 vacancies. Congratulations to our 2017 Board Members.

1. SCHOLARSHIP OFFERING: One of the purposes of PSGSC is to promote activities which benefit the Parkinson's Community. We are particularly committed to advocating for the wellness of People with Parkinson's (PWP). The PSGSC Board has decided to extend our support to LSVT-LOUD, a speech therapy program designed for PWP given by trained and certified professionals and to set aside limited tuition scholarship funding. Flyers will be available on the table at each meeting that explains the commitment involved in this program. Please let us know if you are interested and we can get the process started for you.

-DANCE FOR PARKINSON'S  
CREATIVE MOVEMENT/DANCE CLASS                                                        
Our Parkinson's Support Group of Sonoma County is sponsoring a creative movement class modeled on
the Dance for PD program developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group.

DAYS:   Every  SECOND & FOURTH THURSDAYS of the month  
TIME:    1:30-2:30 (Come early to get ready and stay for refreshments after)
PLACE: THE ODD FELLOWS HALL (545 Pacific Ave. at Mendocino) Santa Rosa
COST:    Suggested  DONATION of $10 per class

PD SINGING CLASS
DAYS: Every First & Third Fridays of the month
TIME: 10:00-11:00
PLACE: THE ODD FELLOWS HALL (545 Pacific Ave. at Mendocino) Santa Rosa
COST: Suggested DONATION of $5:00 per class

Classes begin with vocal exercises and move into singing familiar songs from a variety of genres. We sing to live accompaniment of piano or guitar. No musical or vocal experience is necessary. Join us and have fun!!

3. On-going Fundraisers:  OLIVER'S MARKET WILL CONTRIBUTE 3% OF YOUR PURCHASES TO PSGSC EVERY TIME YOU SHOP AND PRESENT AN OLIVER'S COMMUNITY eScrip CARD. Applications are available at our meeting.  All you have to do is turn in the paper to Oliver's Market and they will give you a card.  EASY!!

 Every TULIP PIN sold for $5.00 will now be added to PSGSC as fundraising profit. Keep buying tulip pins for  family and friends! 

4. Don't forget to check our LIBRARY for  new books/materials/clinical trials info/DVD's of past speakers/etc. If you have any books checked out, please return them when you are finished.      

5. The DONATION JAR sent around at our general meetings helps PSGSC pay for the monthly meeting rental, storage space and mailing address at the church, plus speaker stipends, copying of materials, dance/singing classes, scholarships, etc. We have NO dues or membership fees. Thanks for your monthly donations!
