Programs:
Dance for PD: The classes are going ahead with good support.
Singing Class: Jamie is going to help out with some additional publicity of her own. Class members are very happy with the classes.
Holiday Party: There has been very enthusiastic feed back. Rob Ellis added a great deal and everyone enjoyed his playing for the sing-a-long as well as the background music. A suggestion was made for next year to bring other things besides just desserts. There were 55 in attendance which is higher than in recent years.
Speakers: Marc said that in February, Allison Low will come with Dr. Nandipati. Allison will demonstrate some exercises for PWP and Dr. Nandipati will speak about atypical PD and environmental causes of PD.
There will be no break out groups in March as there will be a Dance for PD demonstration after Dave Iverson speaks.
Men’s Breakfast Grpoup: Marc said that he would ask if there is any interest in creating a “Men with PD Support Group” at both breakout sessions at the February 4, general meeting.
Thank you note: Davida Brautman sent a thank you note for the gift and Gloria’s visit.
Board Member recruitment: One previous contact has definitely decided not to join the Board due to meeting conflicts. Two possible candidates remain. We have more than the minimum number of Board members to carry on, so we will continue to follow up contacts. Board Members can join the Board at any time during the year to fill vacancies.
Library: John has read “The Case of the Frozen Addicts” and suggested it as a good book to acquire for the Library. Ann has received new pamphlets from The PD Foundation entitled Q&A about PD. Everyone has found these quite helpful and we will look into putting one in the New Member Packets.
Data Base: Gloria said that 55 attended the Holiday Party and there were four visitors, one of whom was a PWP. All were very enthusiastic about the event.
Fundraising: Sandy has sent out an email about Amazon’s Smile program reminding everyone that the program contributes to non profits all year, not just at Christmas.
Donation Letter: Nancy has written a draft donation letter which was emailed to all Board Members prior to the meeting. The Board discussed the draft thoroughly and Nancy will rewrite it incorporating the edits and suggestions from the Board.
Scholarships: No further interest has been shown in LSVT LOUD scholarships so we will proceed with LSVT BIG in the New Year.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 by Chair, Kathy Osbun. The next Board meeting will Be January 18, 2016. We will hold the Annual Board Meeting to elect Officers before the Regular Board Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Brush Creek Senior Living.
